In an interview session, educators Delihna Ehmes and Alice Ehmes answer the question, What is an “ideal Micronesian woman”? Well, it’s complicated. Amid the growing pressures of a cash economy and Western ideals of the nuclear family, both men and women grapple with traditional gender roles and the contemporary roles of women in leadership and politics.
